Thousands of people everyday live with diseases, illnesses or conditions that prevent them from walking, standing, or moving.  They cannot do daily activities that we take for granted.  They have no or limited access to doctors and healthcare.  They have no money or resources to purchase mobility aids.  How can we turn this scenario into solutions?  Read on ...

You can donate crutches, walkers, baby joggers, canes, and other walking aids.  We have set up collection sites at First United Methodist Church and Metroplex Physical Therapy in Duncanville.  Your donation offers mobility, health, dignity, and access.

A little about how this came to be.

A polio survivor himself, David Talbot, founded Crutches 4 Africa after seeing the tremendous need while visiting Africa.  He witnessed in disbelief people with polio and other diseases moving around with homemade crutches made from tree branches or whatever else they could find to use as a walker, crutch, or cane.  David and his wife Candice began a small scale outreach effort to collect crutches to send to Africa.  They delivered the crutches themselves.  The effort has grown with the acquisition of a warehouse, a streamlined process for delivering the walking aids, a collaboration with Rotary International and Rotary Clubs around the world, and a turn-key collection and delivery process.

The Rotary Club of Duncanville and Interact Club at Duncanville High School is proud to be a part of this effort.  Our goal is to collect 300 walking aids.
